On Monday, July 1, 2019, the USDA made an unprecedented announcement that cover crops on prevent plant acres may be eligible for tariff aid.

Due to the unprecedented scale of Prevent Plant acres for 2019, along with the ongoing trade war, the USDA had been searching for ‘loopholes’, for ways to allow cover crops to receive aid from the farm aid programs announced by the White House.

One serious note was mentioned, however… To make sure you involve your insurance agent with the decision to plant cover crops on your Prevent Plant acres and/or apply for aid for those cover crops.
